Ernslaw has forests right across this region and we are looking to grow the talent in our team to help us strengthen our business. To help us on this journey, we are looking for an experienced Harvesting Supervisor to manage our operations in the Titoki forest, ideally being located in or near Dannevirke. Key responsibilities in this role are:
· Building positive, long-term working partnerships with contractors who are aligned with our values
· Supporting a strong culture of H&Sand environmental performance and ownership
· Delivering agreed production targets ensuring quality standards are met & value recovery is maximised
· Working with crews and Ernslaw engineering and planning team to maximise mechanisation in an efficient and environmentally responsible way
· Providing input into harvesting improvements by actively connecting with colleagues across our regions and working on innovation projects
· Contribute to the adaptation and implementation of operational management practices to address risk posed by severe weather
· Identifying and solving operational problems in a supportive team environment
· Knowing your numbers and being able to make informed and timely decisions
Our region has an annual harvesting programme of ~700,000 tonnes and our operations have fully mechanised capability. We have a mix of terrain and conditions, so knowledge of different harvesting configurations is important for this role, along with a good understanding of the health & safety and environmental compliance requirements.
