We are inviting applications from experienced civil/ forest engineers or earthworks professionals looking for their next challenge. You will play a key role in leading and supporting our expanding operational programmes across first and second rotation forests on the East Coast in varied terrain, including steep hill country and complex soil conditions. This role will provide the opportunity to work on technically challenging and rewarding projects that build valuable expertise.

You will be part of a capable regional operational team of planners, operations managers and supervisors, who know what is required to successfully manage a large, productive forest estate in this unique part of the country. About the Role

In this role, you’ll take ownership of planning, supervising, and delivering high-quality earthworks and forestry roading projects. You’ll work closely with our contractors, planners and operational teams to ensure safe, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible outcomes.

Key responsibilities include

Overseeingforest road construction, upgrades, and maintenance

Managing rivercrossing construction, water and sediment controls, and slash trap installation

Ensuringcompliance with environmental rules, regulations, and best practice guidelines

Applyingstrong health & safety leadership, ensuring safe worksites and adherence tocodes and best practice

Supervisingcontractors to deliver work to a high standard

Managingbudgets, including tracking and monitoring financial performance

Using RoadEng and other software to support planning, modelling, and reporting

Understandingharvest plans and systems to enable fit for purpose infrastructure

Buildingstrong relationships across teams, contractors, and stakeholders

What we’re looking for:

Proven experience in forestryroading, civil construction, or earthworks

Demonstrated experience workingin challenging soils and terrain

A civil/forest engineeringqualification would be an advantage

Strong technical knowledge ofbest practice forest road engineering and the NES-CF

Understanding of environmentalcontrols and erosion management

Confidence working with heavymachinery and earthworks equipment

A team player who collaborateswell but can also operate as a self-starter

Excellent communication,problem-solving, and organisational skills

Someone who thrives in hands-onoperational environments and is ready to meet the challenges of the East Coastterrain
